At last year’s E3, there were three major titles that were on everybody’s lips despite full knowledge that we wouldn’t even see a hint of them until 2013. One of those, and possibly the highlight of Sony’s pre-E3 press conference, was Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us.
The PlayStation 3 exclusive has been stirring up excitement since it was first announced at 2011’s Spike Video Game Awards, and more so when gameplay was revealed at 2012’s E3 Conference. The post-apocalyptic third-person action/survival game has almost existed in a guerrilla marketing campaign, popping up here and there with just a little more info to whet the players appetite, then laying dormant for a moment before resurfacing somewhere else.
According to Gameranx.com, The Last of Us has resurfaced again… in Italy.

Amazon Italy, specifically, is where Joel, Ellie, and a bunch of infected nasties have resurfaced, in the form of a special edition The Last of Us bundle, featuring the game, a special edition metal water bottle, skins for the PS3 and a DualShock 3 controller, and a 30-day subscription to PlayStation Plus. Amazon Italy is retailing the bundle for 89.99 Euro, which roughly converts to about $120, a standard price for bundling in the United States. The likelihood of the bundle carrying over to the States at that price is pretty good, so get those Euros – er, we mean, dollars – ready.
The Last of Us is slated to infest your PlayStation 3 on May 7. If, somehow, you have not yet heard of this potentially-epic game, check out the trailer below which initially aired at the 2012 Spike Video Game Awards [warning: trailer contains adult language and some graphic violence]:
