VGLeaks has reportedly gotten a hold of a document that details the specs for the next-gen Xbox (aka Xbox 720). While these are obviously not confirmed by Microsoft, the website has previously produced some legit information in the past.
So that being said, here are the supposed specs for the Xbox 720, or as it’s currently internally referred to as Durango.
The document is said to include information on the CPU which boasts 8 cores at 1.6 GHz and the x64 architecture. Each CPU has its own 32 KB L1 instruction cache and 32 KB L1 data cache.
The GPU is said to have 12 shader cores with a total of 768 threads and is using a custom D3D11.1-class 800 MHz processor. Each thread can perform one scalar multiplication as well as “an addition operation per clock cycle”. VGLeaks says a high-fidelity Natural User Interface sensor is present while the system features 8GB of DD3 RAM, 32MB of SRAM and a 50GB 6x Blu-ray drive, which should make gamers pretty happy.
It is also rumored to include a Gigabit Ethernet port, use Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct and feature Kinect multichannel echo cancellation hardware.
