Gamers, start your PCs…
January has been a pretty good month for beta testing, most notably with Sony’s EVE: DUST 514 and EA & Maxis’ SimCity reboot both entering open beta this month.
Before the month ends, though, Bethseda’s ready to get into the beta game as well, announcing they are now accepting beta signups for the highly-anticipated The Elder Scrolls Online.
“We’re really excited to get the game into players’ hands,” said Matt Firor, game director of The Elder Scrolls Online. “We receive invaluable feedback through the beta process, and that helps us ensure that the game will be one of the best online gaming experiences ever offered – one worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise.”
It’s no secret that The Elder Scrolls Online has a lot to live up to – the series has produced Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim, all of which went on to win several “Game of the Year” awards in 2002, 2006, and 2011 respectively. The Elder Scrolls Online looks poised to recreate the hoopla though, as website MMORPG.com has already announced after a hands-on trial that it was “a perfect sauce of awesome.”
Players who want to put that bold statement to the test can register to be selected for the beta by logging on to www.ElderScrollsOnline.com. Timing and details of the beta test will be released to those who are selected at later dates.
