The rumor mill is spinning that a new Batman Arkham video game may be entering the next phase of the production cycle, as several domain names have been revealed to be bought and registered by domain manager MarkMonitor, who represents Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment, along with many others in the entertainment industry, according to G4’s The Feed.
The domains, fifteen in total, all have some mention of “Arkham,” the notorious asylum on the outskirts of Gotham City, and many have mentions of “Batman” himself. The list includes batmanarkhamarises.com, batmanarkhamorigins.com, and thearkhamuniverse.com.
Now of course, this is strictly rumor; there is no way of telling if a new product is ready to move forward, if the domains were registered for the use of WB Interactive Entertainment, or if this was simply a protective move to thwart websquatters for future opportunities in the franchise. But for those who have been patiently waiting for a new Arkham game since 2011, this could be all it takes to restore hope.
