If you own a Nintendo Wii U, you know by now that the battery life on the Gamepad isn’t exactly shall we say, very good.  If you’re lucky, you’ll get a 3-4 hours or so and then it’s charge time.  Well luckily, Nyko, who is well known for making pretty awesome Nintendo 3rd party peripherals, has come across the same problem and decided to do something about it.

At this year’s CES, the company showed off its GamePad Power Pak to Destructoid, which promises to add much more battery life to the controller.

According to Nyko, the PowerPak will give the controller approximately 10 hours of battery life, which should make any Wii U owner weep with joy.  Apparently the battery that is already in the GamePad is actually quite small, while the Power Pak makes full use of the space provided in the battery compartment.

For those that don’t want to start opening up their GamePads for fear of breaking the thing, you can also use Nyko’s U Boost, which is an attachment for the GamePad that doubles the on-board battery life of the existing battery.

Both the Power Pak and U Boost will be available in February for $24.99.
