Nintendo Announces Pokemon X and Y for the 3DS
Nintendo held a Nintendo Direct earlier this morning to make the huge announcement that two new Pokemon games are on the way – in 3D and exclusively to the Nintendo 3DS.
Nintendo President Satoru Iwata officially announced Pokemon X and Pokemon Y!
The new pair of Pokemon games will be released in Japan, North America, Australia and Europe in October, which will give fans all over the world the opportunity to battle and trade with those from other countries on Day 1.
There will also be three new starter Pokemon: Fennekin (Fire Type), Froakie (Water Type) and Chespin (Grass Type).
From what we could see from the gameplay trailer, there will be dynamic camera angles, with battles showing off various points of view, while the attacks themselves look a bit more fleshed out. Players will be able to choose from a male or female trainer, while the video shows what appears to be the return of the Pokemon trainer gyms. Also you’ll notice that we get a first glimpse at the Legendary Pokemon – Yveltal and the large Y-shaped bird, Xerneas. Obviously both will likely be the mascot for one of the games, due to their shapes.
