Final Element Preview

Yesterday I talked a bit about a Kickstarter for the game “Final Element” in our new segment Popular Kickstarters of the Week. Before I even made that post I had pledged some money to the game because I thought it looked cool and there was just something about the game that I liked. Today the creator posted a demo version of the game in which you were able to poke around with the game mechanics by going through a level and fighting a boss. I have to say I have not been more excited about a game in quite some time.
To begin the Earth is sucked into a black hole and all of reality has changed. You, the protagonist, start walking around and discover a fire element. You possess the power to control elements and are able to gain more elements along the way. You fight your way through other humans who have survived the black hole and now have special powers as well. One particular enemy, a flying guy that shoots purple orbs, was particularly difficult for me to beat unless I had a certain element which had a special attack that made enemies disappear.
Now, what’s special about this game is that when your life bar hits zero, you don’t die. You are transported to a world called “Semi Reality”. In here you just have to platform around to escape. Now, depending on how you died this particular level is different. If you lost all of your health due to getting beat up by purple orb guy, then you get health along your way out of Semi Reality. If you fell down a pit, you have to fit your way past flash blocks that shoot out rainbow balls. The music in Semi Reality is amazing as well, hell the tracks for the game so far are good too!
The video above shows more things that are going to be incorporated in the game, the demo didn’t have too much that you could play around with but it was still fun. It really reminds me of Megaman X. Challenging, but I could get through it after enough tries. I really recommend checking out the Kickstarter page and pledging some money. Currently as of this post Final Element has $699 out of the $1000 it needs to be funded.
