GotGame Daily News Update: The PS2 Discontinued And More
PS2 Finally Done
But first a few quick news bytes.
Now back to your regularly scheduled news cast.
Some of Dead Space 3’s voice commands are going to be different than what you’re used to. Expletives, A.K.A. cursewords, are going to be included in the Kinect voice commands for the upcoming survival horror third person shooter game. Exectuive Producer for Dead Space 3, Steve Papoutsis said as much in an interview:
“We actually have some commands that people will need to figure out,” he explains, “But there are commands where you might be in a certain situation and you might yell a specific expletive and it might behave in a way that you want it to.”
I can’t wait to hear the news reports that parents are trying to get Dead Space 3 banned because of this.
It’s a sad day in Japan for fervent PS2 lovers. The console, after 12 years, is finally being discontinued. The PS2 has sold over 150 million units. It’s no surprise that they did this, it was going to happen eventually. No news about how this will affect shipments to other countries.
Finally, XBOX Live seems to have the flue. Outages and inconsistencies are affecting various apps on the XBOX 360. Joystiq reported earlier today that Netflix, HBO Go, and Hulu Plus were functioning. Not only are apps affected, but files saved in the cloud are as well. Users will see a “0x807b0198” error when trying to access files saved in the cloud. Microsoft is currently working on the problem.
Here’s your question for the day gamers:
