Nintendo’s Wii U documentation states that a Nintendo Network ID is tied to a single console, which has made quite a few gamers nervous.
Given that more than a few users ended up with bricked Wii U’s, from having turned on the system during the Day 1 update, it raises the issue of what will then happen if someone’s console breaks. What will then happen to downloaded titles and the like?
Fortunately, Kotaku has dug into the issue and has bugged Nintendo enough times to get an answer.
“Nintendo of America’s repair process includes the transferring of the Nintendo Network ID to a new Wii U console if a replacement system is needed,” Nintendo told Kotaku.
Well at least it’s good to know that Nintendo can technically get you back up and running if you need to get a replacement Wii U.
But is that really good enough?
