The Walking Dead FPS Game Getting Voice Actors From AMC TV Show

by on December 3, 2012

I don’t think anyone can overstate the popularity of the Walking Dead franchise right now. Whether it is through comic books, graphic novels, television, or even video games with the TellTale Games Episodic series. So, when Activision announced it was making a First Person Shooter based off of Daryl and Merle Dixon from the AMC TV Show, it should have surprised absolutely no one. Especially considering this is Activision we are talking about here, they always seem to ride the wave of anything popular.

According to That Video Game Blog, Activision has signed the two actors who play Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Merle (Michael Rooker) to voice their characters in The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct.

I won’t lie, as a big fan of the whole franchise that probably made me want to play the game a little bit more. Good on Activision for making sure the game had authentic voices and gives fans of the show, who may not be gamers, an opportunity to try out the game and instantly feel a connection with the characters.

Here is a Cinematic Trailer for the game:

Expect Walking Dead: Survival Instinct out some time in 2013 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Until then make sure you catch the show on AMC Sunday Nights at 9ET/8CT (well they just took their mid-season finale, so catch it again in January then.)
