Sony Submits Patent for Move/DualShock Hybrid Controller

by on December 1, 2012

A patent submission from 2011 was discovered today by TheSixthAxis, which shows that Sony is considering a sort of PlayStation Move / DualShock controller hybrid, as seen above.

The patent shows the controller snapping together, that according to the submission is a “hybrid separable motion controller.”

The controller would feature accelerometers, gyros, a speaker, rumble/vibration and a magnetometer.  The PDF file also describes the need for a camera, which if it has motion technology, would make sense, and compatible games would be able to tell if the controller has been separated into two parts.
