Remember that sweet trailer of Rayman Legends, where the player used the NFC (Near Field Communication) feature on the Wii U’s Gamepad to put characters in the game?
Well Ubisoft’s Michael Ancel tells Official Nintendo Magazine that it was experimental and not final.
“We didn’t announce this officially and it was more the kind of experiment we do when working on new hardware like the Wii U,” said Ancel, who’s the game’s creative director. “We had prototypes of this and we believe that having real objects manipulating gameplay could be quite innovative. But again, this was a prototype and we won’t discuss it until it’s ready to demonstrate its full potential.”
With the game being pushed back until early next year, it’ll be cool to see what Ubisoft comes up with for utilizing the feature, as well as what other developers do with it.
