Microsoft began a revolution when it brought Achievements to its Xbox 360 system. Gamers would be rewarded with points for simple things such as creating their character on a game or killing the final boss. This all was put into a total gamerscore that could be shown to friends on Xbox Live. It did not take Sony to follow suit with “Trophies” and even Nintendo added them into the 3DS with “Accomplishments.”
However, according to g4tv.com that feature won’t be transferred over to the Wii U when it hits stores on November 18, 2012.
The news comes from 5th Cell co-founder and Scribblenauts Unlimited creative director Jeremiah Slaczka, who says developers can choose to add achievements if they want but they are not mandatory. Slaczka did say that the upcoming Scribblenauts features its own “achievements by earning “Global Starite Shards.”
Nintendo has said they might change their minds depending on the fans respond to the Wii U. Just don´t expect to find many achievements in launch window games for now.
