GotGame Daily News Update: GTA V Early Mission Details, Assassin’s Creed Movie, And More

[I apologize but there will be NO audio to accompany this post due to technical difficulties. The audio segment will resume tomorrow, November 13, 2012]

Welcome to the GotGame News Update for Monday, November 12, 2012

First we have a few news bits.

Scribblenauts creative director Jeremiah Slaczka has allegedly claimed on NeoGAF that the Wii U does not have a “system wide” achievement system. First good thing Nintendo will have done for the console if this is true.
For PS Plus members this week Quantum Conundrum is free and Machinarium is on sale for $6.99.
For those Black Ops II players who got a legitimate pre-release copy of the game, worry not for your multiplayer statistics will not be deleted when the game launches tomorrow.
The next Mass Effect game will be developed by Ubisoft Montreal and run on the Frostbite Engine
The Wii-U will not be able to play games from an SD card. Games downloaded on to an SD card will have to be transferred on to the Wii-U hard drive to be playable. This should not effect downloaded games on external hard drives/usb drives.

Now for your regularly schedule news.

The Assassin’s Creed movie that was coming in 2013 is no longer coming in 2013. Ubisoft has spoken with G4TV and said that there will be “further development” on the movie next year.

Microsoft is getting even more sinister and only publishing an update for it’s newest Direct X, Direct X 11, for, you guessed it, Windows 8! Anyone who does not have Windows 8 will sadly be left out. Time to switch over to Linux and pray more Steam games come to the OS.

Details about missions early on in GTA V have been leaked. The trio of guys who will be the protagonists in the game will have to raid a downtown Los Santos high-rise and rescue a man who is being held captive by a government agency. Players will begin as Trevor, navigating their way to a spot where Michael (the ex-mobster), can rappel down the side of the high-rise. Players then have a choice of staying with Michael and raiding the high-rise or switching over to Franklin who is giving Michael cover fire with a sniper rifle in another building. Michael grabs the hostage and then players are given the choice to pick between the three outlaws to pull the mission off.

That’s it for the GotGame Daily News Update for Monday, November 12, 2012.
