Wii U To Support 12 User Accounts And Shared eShop Games

Nintendo is finally getting into modern times with their online interface. While the Wii supported no user accounts of any kind, the Wii U will support 12 user accounts per system. This should be enough to support the vast majority of families. Each account will have their own play history, their own browser history, and their own save data.

What’s a bit more newsworthy is the fact that all users can share eShop games across a console. This differs from the PSN and X-Box Live where titles are linked to a particular user account. This should definitely make downloading titles a more attractive option.

As reported earlier, you’ll need to perform a day one update if you intend to use these features.

That’s what I’m talking about! Not just the user accounts but sharing eShop games…that’s what I was hoping for!

I accidentally bought Marvel vs Capcom 2 on the wrong X-Box Live account, and haven’t been able to play it online since :'(. Glad Nintendo edited that. Now I need my 3DS and Wii U to be linked.
