Yesterday was election day. If your guy won then great! If your guy didn’t win, then there’s always next time (Yes, I said “year” but realized after I had posted this. Please excuse the error) for that other guy in your party. More importantly Congress now has a gamer among its ranks. Democrat Colleen Lachowicz is a level 68 Orc assassination rogue. Congress already doesn’t get anything done these days, just think if they were all gamers like Lachowicz.
Linux gamers rejoice, the Steam version for your OS is now in closed beta! The client is for Ubuntu 12.04, so if you have a version before that then you might want to think about upgrading if you can. Unfortunately though not too many games are available, about two dozen plus Team Fortress 2.
There are quite a few gaming media outlets/magazines closing/going to be shutting down this year. Now The Official Playstation Magazine is going to be among their ranks. The magazine will stop publication by then end of this year, but as a treat to fans they will have one final hurrah in the form of a holiday special. It’s a digital magazine eat paper magazine world out there. It was only a matter of time before this happened.
Ex Square Enix head Hisashi Suzuki says that the merging of Square and Enix was a “complete failure” and that there is “no vision for the future. This just after Square reported losses in it’s latest earnings report. Ouch, way to kick a company when they’re down.
Ubisoft announced the Assassin’s Creed Anthology bundle for PS3 and XBOX 360 today. It will include all five Assassin’s Creed games, yes that means Assassin’s Creed III. Not only that, but Assassin’s Creed Anthology will include all of the DLC for the games included. The catch, it’s only going to be available in the United Kingdom for now. You all overseas can expect a release date on the 30th of this month at a price of £ 119.99.
Last but not least a couple bits of Halo 4 news.
The XBOX 360 Halo 4 Limited Edition Console bundle is back in stock at Best Buy in limited stores, as well as online for $99.99. Get them while you can gamers.
To ever promote Obesity and further the disease called the couch potato, Microsoft will be giving out MS points to Halo 4 players this month. Dubbed the “Halo 4 Combat tour”, players will be able to gain 100 pts for 35 + hours of play, 300 pts for 70 + hours of play, and 600 pts for 140 + hours of play on Halo 4 multiplayer. So pull up a chair or flop on your couch and make sure mom brings you lots of cheesey poofs and get to grinding away.
