Most retailers observe street dates fiercely, fearing retribution from publishers for working outside of their guidelines. Apparently HEB Plus is not one of those retailers. As sighted by Gimme Gimme Games, the Texas-based grocer has decided to look at the street date for the Black Ops II Vita bundle more as a set of guidelines, placing the game out on store shelves ten days early.
According to GGG editor Kevin Femmel, the employees at the retailer seemed to have no issue with letting him hold the system or actually purchase it ten days ahead of schedule. We can’t even count on retailers to stay somewhat near street date anymore. All has become madness.
If you’re in Texas and are really looking for the bundle, I suppose you can head over there. The Vita’s traditionally been short on games, but now with Assassin’s Creed: Liberation and Black Ops II, maybe it’ll start to turn around?
