Take Two Games In Talks to Open Offices in Las Vegas

Take Two, the company behind the notorious Grand Theft Auto series, might be opening up shop in Sin City.

According to today’s Las Vegas Review-Journal, Take Two Interactive Software, who are also behind the 2K Sports franchises, have entered into an agreement with the Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency to open up offices on Carson Avenue in downtown Las Ventanas Las Vegas.

The target of a major revitalization effort, the downtown area is most famously known for Fremont Street, Las Vegas’ original “Strip,” as well as the original INSERT COIN(S) barcade and the new Mob Museum. If the agreement is approved by the redevelopment agency board and the city council, Take Two could stand to gain incentives of up to $600,000, including furnishings, equipment, upkeep, and parking, which is a premium commodity in downtown Las Vegas. The incentives would also help to support the hiring of 150 full-time employees.

If approved, Take Two would also join major online retailer Zappos.com in moving to the downtown district. Zappos.com was formerly housed in the city of Henderson, NV, a suburb of Las Vegas.

Though very little information was revealed on the City of Las Vegas’ website, it did say that Take Two would occupy 25,000 square feet of office space, and the median wage for employees would be $18.00 an hour.

Take Two was unavailable to the Review-Journal; their headquarters is located in Manhattan, in an area hit by Hurricane sandy.
