2K Games today released Borderlands Legends on the iTunes App Store, which provides top-down gameplay with action-RPG elements.

The iOS game includes Brick, Mordecai, Lilith and Roland, and asks players to defend themselves against hordes of Skags, Bandits, Psychos and Bruisers, among others.

“The release of Borderlands Legends exemplifies our commitment to growing the Borderlands franchise,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “By offering a high-quality Borderlands experience designed specifically for mobile devices, fans can immerse themselves in the world of Pandora no matter where they are.”

The game’s maps and weapons will be generated randomly, with gamers being able to purchase skills, shields and abilities.

The iPhone/iPod touch version is available for $4.99, while the iPad version is $6.99.
