I am sure I´m not the only one that is not the biggest fan of the micro-transaction fad that has permeated the games industry recently. So, when Ubisoft announced Assassin´s Creed 3 would have them people started getting worried. No fear though gamers because Ubisoft is here to give their official statement on the matter.
“The Erudito Credits are a new way of unlocking content in Assassin’s Creed 3’s Multiplayer…People who have little time can use Erudito Credits as a shortcut to unlock game items from level 1 to 50 (excluding Prestige levels and relics rewards). This is not mandatory, all items sold in Erudito Credits are also available in Abstergo. Credits and can be unlocked through normal progression like previous years.”
Well, glad to know they are for multiplayer, which is not something everyone plays in these type games. The problem that arises though, is that AC 3´s multiplayer is competitive based and these micro-transactions will perhaps directly affect the gameplay. No one wants to play against people that have the money to “buy their way to the top.”
I really hope this type of thing does not take off because this could ruin multiplayer gaming in favor of just getting a few more bucks.
