According to Kotaku, Blizzard has some changes in mind for Starcraft 2 in the near future.

Those changes would include the inclusion of groups and a clan system, as well as the ability to jump between regional ladders.  There will also be unranked matchmaking as well as the ability to resume play in multiplayer in the event of a disconnect, which will certainly be useful for when unexpected issues arise, and not just a wuss player who decided to leave.

Blizzard tells Kotaku that there are also some UI updates and improved stat tracking on the way, as well as multi-language support and multiplayer replay viewing over Battle.net.

Finally, the publisher plans to add a new leveling system, which will reward players with cosmetic content for use in online matches.
