Fans of the Mass Effect series are still patiently waiting for more information about the Mass Effect movie that was confirmed for production in 2010. Though not much else has taken place with the movie recently, there is news that the project has lost a writer: Mark Protosevich, the writer for the screenplays of “Thor” and “I Am Legend.”
Gamespot reports that Legendary Entertainment will continue working on the movie, now placing Morgan David Foehl at the helm of the screenplay. Foehl is reportedly a fan of the Mass Effect series, and has written scripts in the same vein as the ME storyline, though he has never had a script produced. He worked as an assistant editor for FX series Rescue Me, though, as well as I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.
Wouldn’t count that against him, though; Anthony Burch was pretty fresh to the field when he wrote Borderlands 2, and that turned out pretty great.
No actors have been announced for the Mass Effect film, and no release date has been chosen.
