Microsoft has recently revealed some big numbers as it pertains to number of Xbox 360’s sold worldwide. To date, Microsoft has sold a staggering 70 million units since the console launched in November of 2005. Based on recent figures, this puts The Xbox 360 firmly in second place when it comes to this generations console race.

Sony’s PS3 sits in third place with a very respectable 63.9 million units, while Nintendo sits at the top of the heap with a whopping 96.5 million. Needless to say First place may be out of reach for Sony and Microsoft, but the race for second seems to be heating up. Both Sony, and Microsoft have recently announced either console price drops, new bundles, or reduced prices on software to boost sales. It’s not over yet, but with Nintendo as the winner, who is your money on to finish second?
