Jasper Byrne of Superflat Games is well known now due to his recent hit, Lone Survivor. Lone Survivor is an apocalyptic, side-scrolling, survival horror game, and the best part is, it is only $10.
According to PC Gia, Byrne recently began to show off rough prototypes for his next untitled project.
“Basically it’s a combination of all the ideas I’ve been shooting around since the later parts of making LONE SURVIVOR, from dungeon crawler to sci-fi head-messing to whimsical platformer… or another way of looking at it may be Zelda x Demon’s Souls?” Bryne said.
Byrne says the game will feature two-handed combat, equippable weapons, and rolling. The characters will also be entirely sprite based, and Byrne is currently in the process of writing a new engine to support his ambition.
Well, anything named “Zelda X Demon Souls” has my attention. I´ll be sure to keep an eye out for more information on this game. However, don´t expect this to come out anytime soon though, as Lone Survivor took four years to come out.
