Microsoft May Be Ending MS Points

If there is one thing in gaming that I´ve understood to be universally hated, it´s Microsoft´s insistence on making Xbox 360 owners use Microsoft Points. I know I am not the only one that hates having to purchase extra points just to make up whatever you need to buy some DLC.

The Verge reports Windows 8 no longer uses MS Points, instead, Windows 8 makes users pay for content with their credit card.

Apparently, Windows 8 betas allowed users to pay with MS Points, just like Xbox Live Marketplace and Zune Marketplace, but with the final version of Windows 8 all payments can only be done by credit card transaction.

Microsoft has not made an official comment on this yet, but it could mean that they’ll abandon the use of MS Points across all platforms, including Xbox 360, sooner rather than later or at least offer the possibility of paying with credit cards instead of virtual currency.

Man, I hope this is true. It´s rather tiring having to waste extra funds because I need 40 more points to buy a new Rock Band 3 DLC Pack.
