New Galaxy Phone From LG This Month

by on October 5, 2012

LG has decided to step into the Nexus phone arena and bring about their own Google phone. The company will be using the Optimus G as a reference point and adding a few things here and there to make their own Nexus phone.

Gizmodo reports that the following are the rumored specs for the phone:

  • Qualcomm’s Snapdragon quad-core processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 1280 by 768 IPS display
  • 8-megapixel camera
  • non-removable battery
  • 8 and 16 GB versions

What worries me the most is the “non-removable” battery. Apple currently does that and not allowing people to swap out batteries or carry extra batteries is not going to get them very far. Android phones generally come with the ability to change out batteries, so we will see how well LG’s phone does when it comes out.

I’m actually quite excited to see this phone come out but I’m totally turned off by the fact you can’t switch out the battery. I find that to be very essential to have access especially when some phones die out pretty quick, it needs that battery swap.
