MGS: Ground Zeroes Featuring Day/Night Cycle, Mother Base
Hideo Kojima recently revealed more information about Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes at the Eurogamer Expo.
VG247 reports that the game will feature the Mother Base mechanic that was used in Peace Walker. For those that didn’t play the game, the Mother Base let players develop weapons and equipment and hire personnel to help develop quicker.
“We liked the concept of developing weapons and creating new things at your base, and how that influenced the gameplay,” Kojima said. “That was a really cool idea, and something that was very popular.”
However, unlike the last game, Kojima also confirmed that players can call a helicopter to fly to the base and walk around it.
“I can’t reveal too much about what happens after you get in your chopper, but you get in and fly to your base. Then you can walk around your base all in real time,” Kojima revealed. “It’s the base that you create. But if you want to focus more on the main missions, you can do that, so you don’t have to customize the base if you don’t want to.”
In addition, the game will also feature day/night cycles that will have an effect on stealth as players progress as well.
