Add this one to the rumor mill, but according to Kotaku, EA Sports could be adding real NFL referee likenesses to next year’s Madden game.

The site reports that two different sources within the NFL Referees Association told them that officials’ facial features have been scanned into the game, along with explanation for calls that could also be in the game.

Earlier today the NFLRA finally ironed out an agreement with the NFL to end the lockout, which would certainly help EA’s cause if they are in fact to do this for next year’s game.

The refs who have been reportedly scanned would be the 17 that wear white hats on the field, and would include some sort of cinematic in between calls.

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
