Injustice Collector’s Edition Shows Batman Getting Rocked by Wonder Woman (But Not in a Good Way)
Warner Bros. dropped a press release this morning detailing the contents of the Injustice: Gods Among Us Collector’s Edition. There’s some pretty neat stuff in it, including a digital download of the movie “Justice League: Doom,” exclusive skins for Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman based on their iterations in the DC New 52, and even a collector’s edition release of an upcoming DC Comics new series. But headlining the release is a statue, a rather…interesting statue.
Batman’s tied up by the Lasso of Truth, and wouldn’t you know it, Wonder Woman’s on the other end. And she’s holding…a rocket? A rocket that looks like….yep, that’s probably Superman’s baby rocket. And I don’t think Batman’s going to be a fan of what she’s planning on doing with it. Not that I know precisely what that plan involves…but I have to imagine it’s not good for Batman.
As a Batman fanboy, I disapprove. But it certainly speaks to the ways that Injustice: Gods Among Us is looking to turn the DC Universe mythos on its ear and add in some gritty intensity. We’ll see if it lives up to its hype when it releases next year.
(Batman would probably have a tool in his utility belt that could cut the Lasso of Truth anyway…sheesh…)
