Runic Taking Break after Mac Torchlight 2
Runic looks to take a bit of a vacation soon.
After finishing up work on the Mac version of Torchlight 2 and patching launch issues, the group will be taking a break they told Joystiq.
“While we have no plans to begin work on an MMO, that’s partly because we have no plans, period!” Runic CEO Max Schaefer said. “We’re waiting to do the Mac port of Torchlight 2, and fix whatever launch issues we have, and then decide after we’ve had a good night’s sleep or three. It is likely that nothing that would be called an MMO is the next thing we do, though, but that’s not 100 percent certain.”
Prior to that statement, there had been rumors that a Torchlight MMO was being worked on, but nothing solid had been said about it.
Comments:
I guess they will be working for a LONG time to come since that article was posted in September and it’s now April 2013 and there is still no Mac OSX version of Torchlight 2 and absolutely no updates or mentions of it by the Torchlight team. I bought the game in good faith on Steam knowing that there would be a Mac port, but I’m starting to think I was duped by their announcement which said it would be a couple of months after the PC version. Apparently a “couple” means 6 months to a year or more in Runic Game Speak (sigh).
