Darksiders II Not A Wii-U Launch Title

Earlier this week we told you that Darksiders II would be a Wii-U launch title. THQ had sent us a press release saying that the title would be available for the console’s launch.

Well I went into GameStop today to pre-order the Wii-U console (I had to settle with the regular version), and possibly Darksiders 2 and Assassin’s Creed 3. Turns out I was only able to pre-order one of those games for the system. I asked for a list of launch titles for the Wii-U to look over and Darksiders 2 was nowhere to be found. the GameStop employee who was ringing up my order said that THQ didn’t even talk about the game being a Wii-U launch title at the GameStop convention held recently. I have a list of the titles that ARE confirmed launch titles by GameStop. You can check that list out below.

I’ve reached out to THQ for comment but have not received any response from them yet. GotGame will keep you updated on the matter.

  • Assassin’s Creed III
  • Disney: Epic Mickey 2
  • FIFA Soccer 13
  • Just Dance 4
  • Madden NFL
  • Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor’s Edge
  • Nintendo Land
  • Rabbids Land
  • Sing Party
  • Skylander’s Giants
  • Sports Connection
  • Super Mario Bros. Wii-U
  • Transformers Prime: The Game
  • Your Shape Fitness Evolved
  • ZombiU

Yeah, just because it hasn’t been confirmed directly to Gamestop doesn’t mean it won’t be at launch. This is apparently the launch list:

Well something is fishy. If Nintendo says those are launch titles then GameStop should have them on their launch title list and online. I don’t even think I saw Darksiders 2 on GameStop’s Wii-U page.
