Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Confirmed for the Wii U

Activision, after showing off gameplay footage of 007 Legends, Transformers Prime: The Game, and Skylanders Giants, finally let the cat out of the bag with the announcement that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will indeed arrive on the Nintendo Wii U!

From what we could see from the presentation, the game looked pretty damn good (graphically) and will make fine use of the gamepad.  For starters, you can create your class and swap out your weapons on the fly using the gamepad, while also being able to use it as the mini-map and to call out your score streak attacks. Speaking of classes, the game will feature a new Create-A-Class system that lets players allocate 10 items in order to create their own customizable combinations.

Activision also revealed that with its support for 2-player local play, the gamepad can serve as a secondary screen, eliminating the need for a split screen on the main TV.

In addition, Activision also confirmed eSports on Wii U via League Play.  This will add skill-based matchmaking and seasonal ladders to the game and will be available to anyone of any skillset.  The game will also include CODcasting; allowing players to commentate on their favorite games.

There will also be support for the Pro Controller, as well as the Wii remote/nunchuck combination and will hit stores on Nov. 13.
