More Details on iOS 6 Announced
iOS6 was announced today by Apple, coming with a whole slew of new features.
Below, you can see a recap of the features being added to the latest edition.
Maps: Maps will now have a new design from Apple.
Turn-by-turn navigation is being added with spoken direction, and flyover is available to see certain cities and landmarks from the sky.
Siri: iProduct owners that can use Siri can now use her to find sports scores, movie times and more, along with opening apps.
Facebook: More apps, like Photos or Safari, will have Facebook integration to post directly from apps to Facebook.
Photos: Photo streams have been added to view photos through Apple TV. In addition, sharing photos with other iOS users will become easier, not needing a text message to send out.
Passbook: One of the big additions is Passbook, which can store gift cards, plane tickets, sports tickets and more with bar codes. Coupons can also be stored here with an expiration date shown.
Facetime: Facetime will still work the same, but will now be available on iPhones as well, both over cellular networks and Wi-Fi.
Phones: iPhone users will now be able to send a reply when ignoring a call as to the reason why. In addition, Do Not Disturb hours can be programmed when the phone won’t even alert you to calls.
Camera: Cameras can now shoot panoramic images.
