According to Nowgamer, Halo 4 developer 343 Industries is searching for staff to “help create the current and next generation of game visuals in the Halo universe.” I am guessing we can suppose this means 343 is already at work on next-gen HALO.

343 are looking for an experienced graphics developer to help them deliver cutting edge graphics technologies for AAA experiences, reads the Microsoft job ad.

The job spec contains the following:

Working on “current and next generation of game visuals in the Halo universe. Work on one of the most exciting and creative properties in the industry; Work with the incredible 343 team to help drive the future of Halo.

Candidates will also be expected to get “up to speed quickly with the current rendering and shading architecture, supporting current efforts and future investigations,” while experience Xbox 360 and DirectX 11 experience is also considered favorable.”

Microsoft and 343 announced at E3 2011 that Halo 4 was the first part in the new ‘Reclaimer Trilogy’. Little is known about Halo 5 and Halo 6, but it wouldn´t be too far fetched to expect Halo 5 to help launch the new Microsoft system.
