According to g4TV.com, Microsoft has a patent filed for a revolutionary display technology referred to as an “environment display.” The display is supposed to project a 360-degree view of a game world across an entire room. The device would also be fitted with a 3D depth camera that keeps track of the player’s movements in front of it using an enhanced version of the same techniques that the current-gen Kinect does.

Patently Apple confirmed that The patent also suggests that this planned technology would work with Microsoft’s supposedly planned shutter 3D glasses.

Could be the next revolution in gaming? I guess we will have to wait and see for now.
