Namco Bandai has today released Galaga Legions DX for Windows Phone ($6.99), with a trial version currently also available as a free download.

The game was originally released on Xbox Live Arcade and challenged players to shoot through thousands of aliens within three areas, with the WP version including touchscreen controls.

“Last year, Galaga Legions DX brought the classic arcade formula into the 21^st century with spectacular graphics and truly intense gameplay, now we’re embarking on bringing the series to the exciting and bourgeoning Windows Phone Platform,” says, James Kucera, Head of Mobile, NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. “We’re excited to explore this new territory and bring the furious shooting action to a whole new set of players.”
