EA Boss Frank Gibeau Impressed With Xbox 720 & PS4

Last week, Frank Gibeau, the man in charge of the EA Sports, EA Games, Maxis and BioWare labels, said that the Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4 are due to launch “in about a year’s time.”

According to computerandvideogames.com and gamesindustry.biz, Frank Gibeau is very impressed with the games EA is making for next gen consoles.

“I’ve seen the machines that we’re building games for, and they’re spectacular. Gen 4 hardware is a huge opportunity, and it’s going to lead to a huge growth spurt for the industry.”

On a related note, Oskari Hakkinen, head of franchise development at Remedy, last month said the next gen consoles represent a huge step forward from the current generation.

It’ll be interesting so see what they come up with. I wonder if Mirror’s Edge 2 will still be on current gen or on the next. Hm…
