Lucasfilm announced via the official Star Wars Facebook page today that Episodes II and III will be getting theatrical releases in 3D in 2013.
The post said:
“Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith to be theatrically released in 3D back-to-back, September 20, 2013 and October 11, 2013 respectively.”
Various 3D films such as The Little Mermaid 3D, Sin City: A Dame to Kill and Rush will be scheduled around the same dates of the two films, according to ComingSoon.com.
Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace saw its own 3D release earlier this year in February, which netted $43.5 million domestically and $102.7 million worldwide.
No doubt that it’s only a matter of time before we see Episodes IV-VI in 3D at some point in time, followed by the 3D Blu-ray releases of the entire series.
