Guillemot Claims 93 Percent of Ubisoft PC Titles Pirated

by on August 22, 2012

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot had an interesting conversation with GamesIndustry about the company’s PC titles.

Guillemot said that only about 5-7 percent of freemium players actually buy any content. The bigger number, though, is that Guillemot claims Ubisoft PC titles have a “93-95 percent piracy rate.”

Ubisoft has never been on the forefront of PC releases, though. Console titles often get delayed as PC releases, and the DRM Ubisoft uses still gives gamers headaches. Still, that’s a large chunk of titles being pirated.
