Final Fantasy Hosts a 25th Anniversary Celebration

by on August 17, 2012

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy franchise has grown a lot in the last 24 years. It’s made stunning advances, tripped over itself, brought bought laughter and tears to many, and broken a few hearts along the way. Now, as the game approaches its 25th anniversary, Square Enix has decided to host a celebration in honor of the JRPG series.

In addition to the 25th Anniversary celebration taking place in Tokyo, the company is holding an event at PAX East where players can get their hands on many of the Final Fantasy games from the past and present, while competing for special prizes including plushies and special edition Final Fantasy XIII-2 PS3 and Xbox 360s. Attendees will also receive a special FF-themed poster with Yoshitaka Amano’s artwork. Special information will be provided near the end of the night about the continuation of the story of XIII’s protagonist, Lightning.
