Star Trek: Infinite Space Gets Cancelled
Looks like Gameforge’s free-to-play title Star Trek: Infinite Space, won’t be seeing the light of day.
The developer informed Games Industry International that the company was unable to find any interested publishers and will be unable to move forward with the game.
“Since autumn 2011 we made many efforts to find a publishing and marketing partner for Star Trek: Infinite Space,” the company said.
“Unfortunately, our efforts were not successful. So we have decided with a heavy heart to finally abandon the project Star Trek: Infinite Space. The discontinuation is very regrettable. Unfortunately it happens from time to time that a good concept for a game cannot be implemented as originally planned.”
Gameforge had previously shown the game at E3 2010, but had laid off some 100 employees in November 2011, citing that unless the company found a co-publisher, the game may get canned.
