Seeing Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch on a North American release calendar is still a surprising proposition for one to wrap their head around; years ago the game was little more than tempting eye candy meant for eastern eyes only, but now its stateside debut is so imminent that it has garnered a release date, subtitle, and, as of today, pre-order bonuses from major retailers.

In an announcement made today, Namco Bandai named the prizes awaiting those who choose to reserve Ni no Kuni through either Amazon or Gamestop. Consumers choosing the former earn an exclusive Griffy familiar, a beast capable of targeting foes from a great distance and easily decimating them with its Phantom Fangs and Petrifying Puff. On the other hand, individuals ordering their game from the latter of the two businesses will receive a SteelBook case featuring an alternative to the standard box’s artwork.

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch will launch exclusively for the PlayStation 3 in North America on January 22, 2013.
