Activision Brings in Higher-than-Expected Profits

Activision Blizzard did better than they expected for its fiscal Q2.

The company brought in $1.08 billion, more than the predicted $950 million. However, the number is still short of what was made last year.

“For the first six months, we had the top three best-selling games in North America and Europe with Activision Publishing’s Skylanders Spyro’s Adventures and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and Blizzard Entertainment’s record setting Diablo III,” reported Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick.

Digital sales, such as WoW subscriptions or DLC for Call of Duty, represented 32 percent of its overall revenue, earning $343 million.

Meanwhile, Diablo 3 has been played by “more than 10 million” players since launch. Of those players, about 1.2 million were from the WoW Annual Pass.
