New Super Mario Bros. 2 launches for the Nintendo 3DS on August 19. I don’t know about the rest of you, but for me that is an awfully long time to wait for Mario without having any Mario to tide me over. Responding to this unique problem, Nintendo has announced the Month of Mario promotion, a special sale on the company’s eShop that will see weekly discounts on games belonging to the legendary franchise.

Festivities kick off on July 26 with the original Super Mario Bros for $3.99, a deal that will be available until August 1, and then continue to escalate with Super Mario Land (August 2-8, $2.99), Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins (August 9-15, $2.99), and Mario Picross (August 16-22, $2.99).

At the culmination of the celebration, New Super Mario Bros. 2 will launch simultaneously with the Nintendo 3DS XL, a recently announced expansion of the hardware that increases the size of both the platform and its screens, on August 19 at retail and on the Nintendo 3DS eShop for $39.99.
