Scribblenauts Dev Says Wii U More Powerful than PS3, Xbox 360
Depending on whom you want to believe, the Nintendo Wii U, is either as powerful, slightly less powerful or just a tad more powerful than the PS3 and Xbox 360.
Scribblenauts developer 5th Cell, who is currently working on Scribblenauts Unlimited, says the Wii U is “definitely more powerful than the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.”
Speaking to Video Gamer, 5th Cell CEO Jeremiah Slaczka was adamant that Wii U will be able to outperform both consoles, while stating that it was “frustrating” that developers are currently arguing about what Wii U can do.
“Nintendo came to our studio and demoed it to us. A couple of weeks later Warner Bros. got to see it, and we said we should do this. This game was originally a Wii title but later moved to Wii U. It’s been about two years in development,” added Slaczka about Scribblenauts Unlimited.
Epic Games’ Mark Rein also stated this week that Unreal Engine 3 will be used on the Wii U and although they don’t plan on necessarily using UE4 on the console, developers will be able to technically port a game to the Wii U using it.
