Angry Birds is a sensation that has taken the entire world by storm. The game has been downloaded countless times on tablets and smartphones and it was recently revealed that console owners will be able to enjoy Angry Birds, Angry Birds Rio, and Angry Birds Seasons with the Angry Birds Trilogy. So how much do you think the Angry Birds trilogy is going to be? $5? $10? $20? Not even close. The console versions are going to run you almost the cost of a full fledged game at $40 and the 3DS version will leave you $30 poorer.
How much do these games cost individually on the iOS store? Well Angry Birds, Seasons, and Rio cost $0.99 each for the iPhone version. The same games cost $2.99 each for the iPad version. There’s already a disparity between the iPhone and iPad versions but it’s not something that’s going to break the bank. What baffles me is how a $0.99 game ported to consoles and a handheld is going to cost around 4000% more than the original version? What’s wrong with this picture? Why aren’t we asking Activision why they’re gauging the price of this game?
What are your thoughts dear readers? Is Activision pulling a dick move or do we just not capable of understanding the things that big bad companies do?
