Microsoft announced today at the annual Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto, Canada, that Windows 8, their latest operating system, will see a consumer release this October.
According to the company, Windows 8 will reach its RTM (Release to Manufacturing) milestone in August, with specific enterprise customers getting access to it that same month.
Microsoft also said that Windows 8 will be available in 109 languages across 231 markets around the world.
In related news, it was revealed that Windows 7 is the company’s best-selling OS, having sold over 630 million licenses to date.
