Deus Ex Movie Picked Up by CBS Films

According to Gamespot, Square Enix’s Deus Ex franchise is getting the Hollywood treatment, as CBS Films reportedly secured the rights for a film based on Deux Ex: Human Revolution – the 2011 action game.

The film, which currently has no official title, will be produced by Roy Lee (The Ring, The Departed) and Andrian Askarieh (Hitman).  Serving as executive producer will be John P. Middleton.  CBS Films will be working with Square Enix on the project, as well as developer Eidos Montreal.

In a press release, CBS Films co-president Terry Press said, “No one knows Human Revolution like the team that created it and we look forward to working with them from day one to make a film adaptation worthy of the Deus Ex name,” said CBS Films co-president Terry Press.

No director, release date or cast members have been named as of yet.
