Steam has been around for awhile now and they’ve amassed quite a sum of fantastic games. From oldies but goodies like Fallout to newbies like Arkham City, Steam has it all…well mostly. There are a lot of games, like the Final Fantasy series, that don’t even see the light of day on Steam. It’s apparently a tough job deciding what goes up on Steam and what doesn’t. In comes Steam Greenlight, a new feature that will allow you the users to help decide what gets published on Steam. Publishers and developers will be able to post information and assets from their games on to Steam Greenlight where gamers can view the information and give feedback on the game.

Making the call to publish or not publish a title isn’t fun. Many times opinions vary and our internal jury is hung on a decision. But with the introduction of the Steam Workshop we realized an opportunity to enlist the community’s help as we review certain titles and, hopefully, increase the volume and quality of creative submissions. -Anna Sweet | Valve

I think this is a fantastic next step for Steam and Valve. Why can’t all the other game companies be this progressive? More importantly, why aren’t ALL games on Steam? Geebus.
