AT&T U-Verse to Power QuakeCon 2012

There is nary a concept more central to the PC platform than that of a LAN party. Along the same lines, there is nary a concept more central to a LAN party than that of a potent internet connection. At QuakeCon 2012, all of these bases will be covered as id Software and Bethesda Softworks have announced AT&T’s return to the world’s largest gaming festival as its internet service provider.

With AT&T U-Verse, the entirety of the exhibition and its demanding need for bandwidth will be soundly covered with a high-speed internet connection. The effects of the network don’t end there, though, as the partnership with AT&T will also allow for increased streaming of the event via live and on-demand video. id Software President Todd Hollenshead had nothing but exceptional words to profess as it pertained to AT&T and their sponsorship of the annual event.

AT&T was invaluable for us at QuakeCon 2011 thanks to the speed and accessibility their network resources bring to QuakeCon attendees and fans watching from home…Their
dedication and enthusiasm for the event is great, and we couldn’t be happier to join forces again to make QuakeCon 2012 the best, most connected QuakeCon yet. – Todd Hollenshead, President of id Software

QuakeCon 2012 will open its doors to the public for free from Thursday, August 2 until Sunday, August 5 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas.
